Soccer Balls
The modern soccer ball traces its origins to 1838, with rubber supplementing the traditional inflated leather design. Lightweight and responsive, a good football consists of a cover, a lining and a bladder, and is traditionally stitched together. Synthetic leather prevents the ball from becoming heavy in wet conditions and most balls sport a 32-panel design of interlocked pentagons and hexagons.
